I practice Integrated/Eclectic massage which is an approach that incorporates a combination of various massage, bodywork, and somatic therapy techniques during the course of each session. My sessions may include one, some or all of the following techniques:

Swedish massage is the most well-know of the massage techniques. The basic strokes are flowing and rhythmical which facilitate and encourage improved circulation, deep relaxation and bliss as tension melts away and yields to a state of harmony.

Deep tissue massage is a technique that affects the sub-layer of musculature and fascia. The pressure used is very specific to your body’s needs and is generally integrated with other massage techniques. Deep tissue bodywork helps with chronic muscular pain, muscle spasm, injury rehabilitation and can reduce inflammation related pain caused by arthritis and tendonitis.

Neuromuscular massage is a form of deep tissue massage that is applied to individual muscles. It is used to increase blood flow, reduce pain and release pressure on nerves caused by injuries to muscles and other soft tissue.

Trigger point therapy is a noninvasive therapeutic modality for the relief and control of myofascial pain and dysfunction. The goal of treatment is your recovery from, or a significant reduction in pain.

Sports massage is designed to enhance athletic performance and recovery. The techniques are similar to those in Swedish and deep tissue massage. Sports massage has been adapted to meet the athlete’s special needs. Pre-event massage can help warm up muscles and improve circulation. Post-event massage can push waste products out of the body and improve and speed- up recovery.

Abdominal/hara massage. The source of health, vitality, and power, the hara is the physical center of the body. Bounded by the lower rib cage and the pelvic bowl, the hara includes all the vital organs of the body, with the exception of the heart and lungs. The hara is the center of “me”-ness. The first three chakras, which deal with basic survival needs and ego/personality development, join forces and interact here, culminating in a sense of individuality. Abdominal Massage is a noninvasive, external, massage technique which works by relieving congestion and blockages to improve the flow of chi and fluids of the circulatory, lymphatic, and nervous systems.
