Our 40 Day Personal Revolution Program

A Six-Week Program Designed To Totally Recondition Your Way of Life

Baron BaptisteThe program is run for just under a 6-week period starting on a Monday and finishing with festivities on a Friday night. The 40 Day Personal Revolution Program ("40-Days") is progressive. It is intensive with each week going deeper into areas of our lives and giving us many opportunities for growth and personal transformation. There are (3) areas that the program will cover- although you may find that many other areas of your life are brought into the spotlight.

The (3) main areas we will experience are: 1) Going deep into your power yoga practice; 2) Experiencing the commitment to a daily meditation practice; and 3) Awareness and creation of a nutritional diet that suits your body.

Instructors at Yoga One will be completing the 40-Days Program with you and will lead our group discussion held three times a week, Mondays, Wednesdays at 8:30pm and Fridays at 11:15am. These discussions are not compulsory but you are invited to attend and share your experiences or just simply listen to the experiences of others- an invaluable experience in itself.

Each day you complete your meditations, studio or home practice and mark it on the board in the studio using the following symbols. The basic requirements of the course are:

  1. Studio Practice (SP) - Each week you will be asked to complete (5) Yoga One Studio Practices, to include: All Levels, Level One, Ashtanga or Deep Stretch class. Practice at times that suit you. This also includes any of the hour long practices. After completing a Yoga One studio practice you write the letters SP in the top diagonal of the day it refers to.
  2. Home Practice (HP) - Each week you will be asked to complete (1) home practice either following the practice set out in the book or creatively designing your own flow at home. The next day you come into the studio after completing a home practice you write the letters HP in the top diagonal for the day it refers to.
  3. Rest Day ( R ) - Simply mark your favorite symbol on the board on your next day in the studio.
  4. Meditations ( M ) - Each day you will be asked to complete (2) meditations. For each day you complete a meditation, you write M1 or M2 for how many meditations you completed on the day it corresponds to. Each weekly meditation is given in the text for you to follow.
  5. Diet - You will use Baron’s book, "40 Days To Personal Revolution," as a guide to designing a whole food diet suitable for your own personal needs. In week 4, we complete a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse the body as a gentle detox. This is not just a physical cleanse. You will notice a great shift in your mental perception of the quantity of food your body requires. During the fasting period you may take a home practice and day off or practice lighter in class to conserve energy. You are not required to mark on the board if you have followed your diet.
  6. Journaling- You are asked to keep your own journal during the 40-Days and answer questions in the book at the end of each week. These questions are to remain private unless you wish to share them and are simply thought starters for great introspection.

Each week our instructors are available to talk about your experience and offer guidance if sought. There is also an abundance of friends who are very supportive and enjoy the opportunity to share the challenges and triumphs you will experience.

We ask that you are honest about your progression. This challenge is very difficult and not everyone will be able to complete all requirements. The most important thing is that you show up and give it a go. Should you miss a practice or don’t have time for a meditation, we ask that you don’t give up but rather continue the 40-Days with the acceptance of yourself and the openness to get out of it what ever needs to travel your way.
